Seabed Survey Around Teradomari Port, Niigata Prefecture
A seabed survey was conducted around Teradomari Port, Niigata Prefecture, from August 27 to 29, 2025.
In recent years, frequent torrential rains caused by global warming have led to large amounts of sediment and driftwood flowing from rivers into the sea, causing significant damage to the coastal environment (and fisheries). For this survey, we used a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to capture high-definition video footage of the seabed. By obtaining images of the seabed that are not normally visible, we were able to provide useful information to local fisheries stakeholders.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Teradomari Fisheries Cooperative Association, the Niigata Prefecture Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, and all other involved parties for their cooperation in this survey.
This survey marks our company’s first marine investigation. Taking this as an opportunity, we will continue advancing initiatives to address various societal needs.
