In the second phase of the Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (=SIP), the Research and Development Partnership for Next Generation Technology of Marine Resources Survey (=J-MARES) has participated the research and the development program and made great contribution. After the successful achievement for the first phase and the second phase of SIP, J-MARES was dissolved at the end of March 2023.

In March 2023, new Horizon Ocean Research & Technology Co., Ltd. (=nHORT) was established as a new private company to take over the achievements and issues of J-MARES, as well as to respond to the theme of the third phase of the SIP, which is the social implementation of the technologies that have been researched and developed to date. Based on the knowledge and experience accumulated by J-MARES, we will strive to contribute to solving today’s issues, such as sustainable ocean development and marine environmental conservation, and ultimately, ocean security, through the practical application and dissemination of the results of second phase of SIP.
